Insurance Defense & Litigation Attorney

Duplass Zwain Bourgeois Pfister Weinstock & Bogart, APLC is seeking attorneys licensed in Louisiana with two to five years of insurance defense and litigation experience.  The candidate must also have excellent academic credentials (top 25% of class rank) and be skilled in the following areas:  researching various legal issues, drafting pleadings and memoranda in support of motions, conducting depositions and inspections, appearing in court and arguing motions, and assisting in mediation and trial.  Some travel, almost exclusively within the State of Louisiana, is required.

Insurance Defense & Litigation Paralegal

Duplass Zwain Bourgeois Pfister Weinstock & Bogart, APLC is seeking a Paralegal to manage a busy docket of insurance defense cases.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum four to five years of experience as an insurance defense litigation paralegal
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage work for multiple attorneys and cases
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Worldox is preferred
  • The candidate must be skilled in these following areas:
    • case evaluation
    • summarizing depositions and medical records
    • coordinating extensive discovery activity
    • noticing and setting depositions and maintaining calendars
    • drafting pleadings, answers, and discovery
    • complying with all court imposed and other deadlines
    • assisting with trial preparation
    • managing and recording billable time entries in compliance with clients’ billing guidelines
