Joseph
E. Bearden, III
A 1996 graduate of Louisiana State University, Jay received his Juris
Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in 1999. Jay has extensive
practice experience as a civil litigator, primarily in class action,
premise liability, energy and environmental/legacy sites, toxic tort,
admiralty and maritime, construction, and personal injury defense.
Jay has represented petrochemical refineries on numerous occasions
in successfully establishing contractors' defense, indemnity and additional
assured obligations, and he successfully defeated a plaintiff's claim
for over $600,000 in lost wages/earning capacity as unsupported by
credible evidence or expert opinion. Jay also actively participated
in implementing and managing a community settlement program following
a major urban oil spill, resulting in over 1,000 claims settled and
$70 million paid. Areas
